The 2 days short excursion to Akagera national park rewards you with magical experience of game viewing in Rwanda's untamed wildlife destination. The major activities include game viewing drives, excellent bird watching and boat trip along lake Ihema, a habitat to huge crocodiles, hippos and prolific bird life.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Kigali – Rusumo Water Falls – Akagera National Park
Leave Kigali early in morning for the south east of the country. Visit Rusumo waterfall and Imigongo traditional handcraft makers. Check in and lunch at Lodge. Afternoon game drive: Boat riding in Ihema lake, visit Nyirabiyoro historical island which is home to many crocodiles, hippo’s and many species of rare birds. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 2: Game Viewing Safari
After an early breakfast, start your morning game drive. In the morning, make circuit which takes you to different lakes where you will seebuffaloes and elephants drinking.from the water ponds  and other  species of birds like Egyptian goose and fish eager.Have a picnic lunch in the park then continue with the hills game drive. Here you will meet all animals known to be living in a game park: impalas, zebras, bush bucks, water bucks, topis, oribis, baboons, giraffes, cape elands and so many others. This way takes you towards beautiful bushy rolling hills up to the north exit of the park. From here you will drive back to Kigali. Transfer to the  airport for your departure flight.
