Nestled in the Northern parts of   Tanzania lie one of the oldest and largest national parks called Serengeti national park. It derives its name from a Maasai word Siringitu, which means endless planes.

This park was inscribed on the list of the UNESCO world heritage sites in 1981 due to its impressive bio diversity especially the abundant wildlife. The park covers an area of approximately 15,000 km² and is one of Tanzania’s natural wonders. Famously known for its annual wildebeest migration and a large concentration of predator species. Game drives

Game drives are usually conducted in two sessions that is the morning session and afternoon session. This is taken as the best time for embarking on a game drive since animals tend to be more active in the morning, evening they tend to go back in their habitant.

A game drive in Serengeti national park involves viewing the big five animals and others resident animal species.

The Leakey family created a research base there which contains several fossils and tools that were over 2 million years old. These tools and human remains can be sighted from a small museum within the facility.
