Day 1: Arrival-Pick Up
upon a Arrival at Kigali, It’s on this day that you will be jetting in at Kanombe international airport Kigali. You will be picked up by our ever on time English speaking driver guide and drive you straight to your hotel Kigali Luxury or Frame tree hotel Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2: Drive-Akagera National Park
Rise up very early in the morning and have your breakfast. Then you will be picked up by your driver and embark on a 3-4 hours’ drive journey to Akagera national park on the Tanzania border. Arrive and
check in at Luzizi tented camp (www.ruzizilodge.com), have lunch and then relax a little bit. In the afternoon go on the boat cruise and return in the late afternoon before sunset for dinner and overnight.Meals on F/B
Day 3: Game drive-Transfer- Volcanoes National Park
Wake up so early for your breakfast and proceed for a morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. The game drive will reward you with chances to see a
variety elephants, buffaloes, lions, Maasai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, orbit,, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck among others that. Return to the Lodge for late `breakfast and drive back to Kigali for lunch then embark on the drive to Ruhengeri and check in at mountain gorilla view hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking-Volcanoes National Park
Rise up very early in the morning and head straight to the park offices of volcanoes national park for briefing about the gorillas and allocation of gorilla groups and guides. Thereafter get into the tropical rain forest and search for the mountain gorillas starting from where they were the previous day until you find them. You will find them doing their daily chores of feeding their young ones, climbing trees and others just relaxing. Take your best photographs having switched off your flash. This whole exercise takes a maximum of 1 hour and then return to the park offices for your gorilla tracking certificate. Drive back to the hotel for lunch and some relaxation. Then in the evening visit the Diane fossey centre and see where she was buried after being killed by the hunters of mountain gorillas in the mist. From here drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight as above. Meal plan here is F/B.
Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking-Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, in the morning go for golden monkey trekking , this will take about 4-5 hours to find the golden monkey, get to enjoy their natural way of life as you get the breeze from the volcanic mountains. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch , before proceeding back to Kigali, dinner and overnight at Frame tree house hotel in Kigali.
Day 6: Departure-Kigali
Wake up not so early and have a relaxed breakfast then embark on to the airport for your departure flight, you can have a city tour especially to Gisozi memorial centre where thousands of people were burried during the 1994 genocide and other places of importance to the country and from here you will bid farewell to the country and this will mark the end of your safari.
