10 days Magical Uganda and Kenya: wildebeest &gorillas

The 10 days Kenya and Uganda is a unique safari that offers magical experiences into the lands of Kenya and Uganda. The trip is a highlight to one of the best safari destinations on the African continent such as Bwindi Impenetrable national park in Uganda, Masai mara in Kenya.

The trip starts within the pearl of Africa where you will come close with the gorillas face to face, from the gorillas to the chimps and then cross to Kenya.

In Kenya you will be mesmerized with its national parks that is Lake Nakuru and also Masai mara.  The safari is a highlight for one to view both the wildebeest migration and gorillas

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Batwa community visit.

Day 3: Transfer to kibale and do Bigodi swamp walk.

Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation.

Day 5: flying to Kenya.

Day 6: Nairobi -Lake Nakuru national park.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru -Masai mara reserve.

Day 8: Full day game drive in Masai mara.

A Detailed itinerary for the 10 days Uganda and Kenya.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Upon your arrival at Entebbe, your guide will be ready to receive you. he will welcome you and then gives you a briefing about the 10 days Uganda and Kenya magical safari.

After the briefing you will embark on your journey to Bwindi, with breakfast at the Equator.

You will pass via the Kampala -Mbarara highway with enroute lunch at Igongo cultural center. The journey to Bwindi is interesting as you will see the scenic views of the surrounding and also plantations. Upon your arrival in Bwindi, check in the lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Accommodation: Agandi lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking and Batwa community walk.

Very early in the morning have break fast then your guide will drive you to the park head quarters for your gorilla trekking experience. The activity starts with a briefing that helps you to know the Dos and Don’ts while in the jungle.

After the briefing, you will join a group of 8 people to go and trek the gorillas. Trekking involves hiking in the dense forests, steep slopes and also the rugged terrains.   Upon encountering with the majestic gorillas, only one hour is offered for interaction.  This one hour, you can take photos, see the gorillas feed, play and how they do their daily activities.

After the one hour, you will return to the park headquarters, and you will be given certificates as a token of appreciation on the gorilla conservation efforts.  From here the guide will take you back to the lodge and have lunch.  After lunch relax a little as you prepare to visit the Batwa. The Batwa are among the most welcoming and interesting tribes within Uganda. A visit to their villages helps you learn about their cultures through music, dance and also story telling.

In the evening, return to the lodge relax, have dinner and then rest.

Dinner and over night stay at Agandi lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park and Bigodi swamp walk.

Set off early with a hearty breakfast and then prepare to transfer with your guide to Kibale national park. Kibale national park is the primate capital of the world and is situated in the western parts of Uganda. The journey is approximately a 6 to 7 hours activity as you pass through fort portal.

Enroute lunch will be taken from Fortportal and then continue with your journey to Kibale national park. Upon reaching kibale, you will have to go and carry out a swamp walk in Bigodi.
Bigodi swamp is a haven to many animal and bird species and the swamp walk is done with an experienced guide who will give you detailed information about the various attractions seen.

Accommodations:  Kibale forest camp.

Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation.

Have your break fast very early in the morning, and then head with your guide to Kanyanchu visitor’s centre. Chimpanzee habituation is one of those experiences that allow you to spend more than 4 hours with the gorillas.

You will first engage into a briefing, where you will be told about the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest. The process involves you going to the forest with a group of researchers as you learn more about the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee Habituation is an activity that allows you to learn about the chimps.

Accommodations: Kibale forest camp.

Day 5: Bwindi to Kigali- Flying to Kenya.

After enjoying breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Rwanda since its nearer crossing from Kigali than Entebbe.

Upon your arrival in Kigali, you will then fly to Kenya at Jomo Kenyatta airport.  After reaching at the airport, you will be picked up by our safari guide who will welcome you and then continue with your safari to Kenya.

Day 6: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru.

After breakfast, then depart for lake Nakuru national park. This is one of the wonders of Kenya and is very popular for being a home to many flamingo species. This amazing scenery is situated in central Kenya about 140km from Nairobi.

The journey from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru helps you view the photographic scenes of Kenya. Upon arriving in the park check in at the lodge have lunch and then embark on an afternoon game drive.  You will be able to see the pink flamingos, zebras, hippos, giraffes and many more. After enjoy the game drive return at your lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.

Day 7:  Lake Nakuru -Masai mara reserve.

Have your early morning breakfast and then prepare for   your morning game drive in Lake Nakuru still spoting a variety of animals.

In the mid afternoon, prepare to transfer from Lake Nakuru to Masai mara reserve.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 8: Full day Masai mara and afternoon visit the Masai people.

Have breakfast at your lodge, and then depart for your morning game drive in Masai mara.  A morning game drive is very thrilling since many animals are very active thus spotting a number of animals.

After the game drive, return to the lodge enjoy lunch and in the late afternoon prepare to go in the plains for a game drive. You will be able to view a number of attractions including the big 5 safaris and also the bird species.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 9: Hot air ballon safaris and visit the Masai people.

After taking your morning meals, then you will embark on a hot air ballon safari adventure. The hot air ballon safaris are one of the few activities that allow you to fully explore the park as you see a number of attractions.

After the game drive, return to the lodge enjoy lunch and in the late afternoon you will visit the Masai people. A visit to the Masai land is one of the few things that spice up trip thus making it very memorable and unforgettable. In the Masai land you will learn about their traditions and cultures. you will see the Masai singing, dancing as you also listen to stories of long ago.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa lodge.

Day 10: Return to Jomo Kenyatta airport.

In the morning, take break fast at the lodge, and then embark with your guide on transferring from Masai mara to Jomo Kenyatta international airport. The journey is approximately a 4 hours activity.
