Detailed itinerary: Extra ordinary 5-day Serengeti migration &Rwanda gorillas

Day 1: Early morning picks up in Arusha and transfer to Serengeti National Park.

Early morning, your tour guide will pick you up from Arusha either at a hotel or place of residence. Have a briefing about the trip and board your safari vehicle for a transfer to central Serengeti National Park. Have a cultural tour before reaching the park then check into the park for an evening game drive. Explore the park trails in search of wildlife and see as much action in the jungle as nature will provide that evening. Some of the animals that can be spotted in the Serengeti plains include the wildebeest, hundreds of zebras, buffalos, and elephants, and great predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals. By sunset, check in at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: morning game drive, transfer to Ndutu

After your breakfast, you will head to the park for the morning game drive where you will be able to see the resident wildebeest and several big cats including lions, cheetah, leopards among other. You will also encounter several antelopes and zebras that lives within the park. Serengeti is also famous for several bird species that you will meet during this morning game drive. After the game drive in seronera area, you will then transfer south of Serengeti to Ndutu area where you will have lunch and head for an evening game drive before returning to your lodge for the dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: game drive around lake Ndutu, transfer to Kilimanjaro airport

After your morning breakfast, you will head to the park around lake Ndutu to continue with your exploration of this famous national park. Ndutu area is a seasonal destination highly recommended between December and March during the calving season. Besides the newborns, during this time, the park will also have a huge concentration of big cats and you will see several birds around lake Ndutu including the flamingos and ostriches. In afternoon, you will transfer to arusha for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4: transfer to JRO, fly to Kigali and then transfer to volcanoes national park

Early in the morning, you will head to Kilimanjaro international airport to catch your flight kigali international airport. Once you land in Kigali, your driver guide will be waiting for you to transfer you to volcanoes national park which is two and half hour drive from the Rwanda capital city. You will check in to your lodge (five volcanoes) for your relaxation and dinner. Before heading to volcanoes, you will first do a kigali city tour to get the glimpse of Rwandese and their culture.

Day 5: gorilla trekking, transfer back to Kigali airport

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations for Rwanda gorilla safaris. During the briefing, a total of 8 tourists are allocated a single gorilla family depending on their hiking ability. The trek starts with each group being accompanied by a park ranger walking for about 2-6 hours depending on where the gorillas spent their previous night. Upon seeing the gorillas a maximum of 1 hour is allocated in the presence of these gentle giants for photography and amazing moments. After the trek, you return to the park headquarters where you receive a gorilla trekking certificate. Your driver-guide then ensures a safe transfer back to kigali international airport where you will catchup with your next flight. That will mark the end of this great adventure
