The 4 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari offers you an opportunity to adventure the beautiful primates of Rwanda i.e Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National park and Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National park. The Chimpanzee Tracking Permit in Nyungwe Forest costs US $100 per person interested where as the Gorilla Trekking Permit costs US $1500.
Day 1: Arrival- city tour
On arrival at 08:20 am, you will be picked by our tour guide and drive for a city tour around Kigali. Visit the Kigali/ Gisozi genocide memorial, craft shop and the local market. Have lunch in Kigali and then after drive to Volcanoes National park in ruhengeri the home of gorillas, along the way enjoy the escalating hills which made Rwanda to be called the land of a thousand hills. Dinner and over night at Hotel Muhabura
Day 2: Gorilla tracking- Nyungwe National Park
Very early in the morning, assemble at the park headquarters Kinigi for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with gorillas. Tracking may take 1-8 hours depending on the group you are allocated and movement of the Gentle giants. Stay in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of one hour before returning back. From there, the guide will drive to Nyungwe national park. Dinner and over night at Gisakura Guest house.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest
Very early in the morning go for chimpanzee tracking in cyamudongo. Nothing good like good like looking at the chimpanzees in their natural Environment, enjoy them feeding, and interacting. Return to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kigali. Have a stop over at Murambi genocide memorial butare and after proceed to the airport for Your flight back home.
