Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer-Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning breakfast, your guide will collect you from your Hotel to transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A park known to harbors over 1000 mammals with over 600 birds that range from woodlands, to water birds. You will reach in time for lunch to have lunch at the lodge.  In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and George. The boat ride will reward you with water animals like hippos, buffaloes, elephants at the shore with plenty of birds both residents and migrants. Dinner and overnight at jacana  Lodge / Queen Elizabeth hostel

Day 2: Game drive-Chimpanzee tracking

Morning  breakfast and go for a game drives in the Kasenyi track and Queens Mile. This drive will help you catch up with early risers and predators like Lions, Jackals, waterbucks, Elephants, Warthogs, Buffaloes, and others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch.  In the afternoon you will then transfer to the Kyambura gorge to go track chimpanzees and other primates like the colobus monkeys and red tailed monkeys and others. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 3: Transfer-Bwindi Forest

Early morning breakfast, drive en-route through the Ishasha sector as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Watch out for tree climbing lions, and plenty of primates, and antelopes on road sides. You will reach Bwindi in the afternoon. You may go for a community walk to visit the local communities around the forest. Dinner and overnight travelers rest camp / Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking-Bwindi

After  breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them.  They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight as above

Day 5: Transfer-Kibale Forest

Have breakfast to transfer Kibale National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon to have lunch at the lodge and then go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary in the afternoon.  The walk will reward you with Birds like the yellow spotted nicator, African Pitta, Crowned eagle and the Great Blue Turaco. Look out for the Grey-checked Mangabey, Red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest monkey, Baboons and Blue monkeys. You will see Banded mangoose and Otters. Dinner and overnight at Attaco Lodge / primates Lodge. Kibale

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking-Kampala

In the morning have breakfast to go track chimpanzees in the forest. The forest walk will reward you with other primates like the colobus Monkeys, Blue and Red Monkeys, Baboons, and others. In the afternoon you will drive back to Kampala /Entebbe for your departure flight.
