1 day Mount Sabinyo hike from Kigali
Even though Mount Sabinyo is shared by three countries in Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, the mountain can only be summited from the Uganda’s Mgahinga gorilla national park in Kisoro district. The drive from kigali to Mgahinga national park is a 3-to-4-hour drive though the hilly landscape of Rwanda (The country is known as the land of thousand hill). You will also enjoy the scenic view of greenish landscape of Uganda doted by sparsely distributed homestead that you will see along the way.

Detailed itinerary of 1 day Mount Sabinyo hike
Early in the morning, you will be meant by you driver guide who will brief you about the journey to Mgahinga national park. After the briefing, you will start you 3-hour journey to the park through Chanika border. After arriving to the park, you will be meant by the park guide who will take you through what to expect while in the mountain. After the briefing, you will start the hiking to the top of the mountain. Ascending to the top of the mountain will take 4 hours and descending to the mountain will also take 4 hours to return to the base of the mountain.
At the top of the mountain, you will be able to stand within 3 different countries. That is Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. You will also enjoy the scenic view of different volcanoes while at the top before returning to the base of Sabinyo mountain. The journey to the top of Sabinyo will take you through different ecosystem that you are likely to enjoy.
