It is an all-action small group wildlife safari where you will encounter almost all wildlife that you can meet on African continent. From the big cats the smallest of animal. The safari will start from Arusha covering the best of Tanzania northern circuit before closing over to Kenya where the trip will end at Nairobi city. Some of the top destination you will visit include Tarangire national park, lake Manyara national park, the famous Ngorongoro crater and the magnificent Serengeti plains at the side of Tanzania.

You will proceed to the largest tropical lake and the second largest freshwater lake in the world in Lake Victoria before crossing over Kenya where you will visit Masai Mara national park before heading to swampy Amboseli national park mainly for bird watching.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 | Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Drive to tarangire national park for 2 to 3 hours. The park is famous for its savanna grassland, seasonal swamps and its famous river Tarangire. The park is famous for its huge concentration of elephant herds and other animals. Animals always congregate at river Tarangire to drink water that will give you a chance to meet various animals. In late afternoon you will head to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge for your dinner and night stay.

Day 2 | Tarangire Area – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu

After the breakfast, you will have another two-hour drive to lake Manyara national park where you will surely meet the elephants. Beside elephants, you will also see different primates in the forests of the park. The park is also a home to over 400 bird species that you will likely encounter during the extended game drive in the park. After the drive, you will transfer to one of the three beautifully located Tanganyika Wilderness Adventure Lodges where you will spend the night.

Day 3 | Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park

The day will start with the luxurious breakfast before driving down to Ngorongoro caldera where you will find Ngorongoro crater. You will have a stop over at Ngorongoro rim for the photogenic moments on your way to the crater. At the crater, you will encounter various animals including the big five of lion, leopard, rhinos, elephant and cap buffalo.

You will see the famous wildebeest which are endemic to the park together with the zebras. The wildebeest and zebras will be closely followed by the hungry cats waiting for any recklessness. You will continue with your safari journey to the plains of Serengeti famous for its great wildebeest migration together with Masai Mara. You will spend the overnight and have your dinner at kati kati tented camp.

Day 4 | Serengeti National Park

The sun will rise while we are in one of the most famous parks on Africa continent, we shall start with the early morning game drive to enable us catch up with the early morning risers. If you need to get an extra adventurous experience, you can travel the park in space using hot air balloon. The cost for the hot air balloon is not included on our quote.

Therefore, we shall quote it differently. After the morning drive return to the lodge for the healthy breakfast. If you opt for the hot air balloon, you will have your breakfast in bush with champagne included. After the breakfast, we shall continue with the drive following the path of the wildebeest great migration. On a lucky day you might be able to witness the wildebeest crossing the river. You shall spend another night at kati kati tented lodge where you will have your dinner.

Day 5 | Serengeti National Park – Lake Victoria

After the breakfast drive with the aim of exiting Serengeti, on your way out of the park, you might be able to spot other animals that you might have missed out on your two days stay in the park. You will head to the shores of Lake Victoria the largest freshwater lake in Africa and the second largest in the world. The shores are known to be having the most fertile soil in Tanzania which supports a lot of agricultural activities.

You will also be able to see several fisher men carrying out their daily activities. This is the day you are going to live away from the usual tour activities. The night will be spent at Speke Bay Lodge where you will have your dinner.

Day 6 | Lake Victoria, Tanzania – Masai Mara Area, Kenya

After the breakfast, you will join the local fishermen on canoe and extend you adventure into the Lake Victoria water. You will be able to witness their overnight catch and if it is your wish, you can join them to harvest their overnight catch. After your water experience, you will embark on your longest drive of this safari to Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya. The journey is long but worthy it as Masai Mara is regarded as the park with the most concentration of lions. The park is also reputable for its high number of other big cats including leopards and cheetahs. You will spend the night at Mara West Camp on the outskirts of the Masai Mara Game Reserve

Day 7 | Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day dedicated to the game view with the famous Massai mara. You will explore the famous mara triangle encountering different cats and herbivores. The journey will go up to the mara river famous for the wildebeest cross at the end of October and beginning of November of every year. Here the wildebeest will be preparing for the greatest handle in their quest of survival attempting crossing of the river well knowingly that death is await theme.

Even crocodiles will be waiting patiently under the water for the water crossing for the crossing animals. The wildebeest are usually followed closely by the hungry cats including lion and leopards which bring closer the predator-prey interaction. Day 8-9 | Masai Mara Game Reserve

Another two days dedicated for the game drive at the famous Masai Mara game reserve with a chance to encounter almost all Africa wildlife. The purpose for the two days is game drive is to ensure that you don’t need to rush during and secondly to ensure that we don’t leave any room for regret. Beside wildebeest, the reserve is the home to many other animals including the Massai giraffe that only found within Kenya. You will be spending the two nights at the Mara Legends Camp inside the Masai Mara Game Reserve

Day 10 | Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

After the breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. On arrival late in the afternoon, you will check in at you accommodation night at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. Relax a little after the three hectic days either going swimming or just placing your down in your rest room. You will spend your night here and that where you will get your dinner.

Day 11-12 | Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Now we are heading to our destination of this fruitful safari. The journey will start early in the morning after your breakfast with a drive toward Kenya-Tanzania boarder where Amboseli national park is located. After a four-hour drive, you will drive to the park and start your activity of identifying more animals with the help of your guide. At the back of the park, you will be able to spot the famous Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak on African continent. For the two days at Amboseli, you will also encounter herd of elephants which can be as many as 500 elephants plus other animals and birds that inhabit the park. You will spend your two nights at the Ol Tukai Lodge with its lovely carvings and African art is your home for two nights.
