DETAILED ITINERARY FOR A 2 DAY GORILLAS IN MGAHINGA FROM KIGALI

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, city tour and transfer to Mgahinga national park

Upon landing at Kigali international airport, our guide will be ready to receive you.  he will welcome you, then offer you with a short briefing about your 2-day gorillas in Mgahinga from Kigali.

Your trip starts with a city tour, so he will take you to explore Rwanda’s capital one of the popular and cleanest cities in Africa. The city tour allows to visit various areas of interest for instance the Kigali genocide center, here you will learn more about the 1966 brutal war that transpired between the Hutu and Tutsi.

From here you can continue to visit the Kimironko market, one of Rwanda’s busiest markets and interact with the locals.

Some of the other places to visit include the convention centres, Inema arts center and various craft centres. Lunch will be taken within Kigali. After your city tour, you will have to transfer to Mgahinga national park, one of Uganda’s exceptional parks that harbors various attractions.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and return to Kigali

Early in the morning, you will wake up enjoy a quick breakfast then connect with your guide depart to the parks headquarters (Ntebeko).  At exactly 7:00am you will engage in briefing where you will be equipped with the rules and regulations to follow while with the gorillas.

After the briefing, ready with your trekking gears you will join the groups then ascend to the forest. During trekking, expect to sport various monkey species, birds, plant and vegetation.

However, the moment you interact with the gorillas only one hour is offered for interaction. Meeting up with the gorillas in their natural habitat is indeed a once life time experience, that moment you see these majestic gorillas go about their daily activities such as feeding, playing, breast feeding leaves you with memories to tell.

After trekking you will descend down at the park headquarters and you will be given a congratulatory certificate. Drive back with your guide to the lodge to have lunch. From here you will transfer to Kigali and the journey is roughly a 3 to 4 hours drive. You will drive as you enjoy the scenic views of the plantations and surrounding. Upon reaching Kigali international airport your trip will have ended.
