6-Day chimpanzee, gorillas & canopy walk in Rwanda

The trip will take 6 days experiencing the breathtaking sceneries in Rwanda. We shall start by doing chimpanzee trekking in the dense forest of Nyungwe National Park, which is in the southwest of the country, about 9 hours’ drive from Kigali. Next will be experiencing the canopy walk on the suspended bridge over the forest starting from Uwinka. The next and final destination will be Volcanoes national park for a gorilla experience in the Northern province.

ITENERARY BREAKDOWN

Day 1: Arrival and pickup from the airport.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and nature walks.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking and nature walks.

DETAILED ITENERARY

DAY 1: Arrival and pickup from the airport

On your arrival at the airport, a guide will be waiting for you and take you to the hotel as you get ready for the next road trip to Nyungwe National Park.

Meals: Dinner

DAY 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After having breakfast, you will set off to Nyungwe national Park for colobus monkey trekking and waterfall visiting. On your road trip to Nyungwe, we shall have a stopover at The Kings palace museum for a cultural and historical experience about how the king used to rule and day to day lives of people.

After that, we shall proceed with our journey to the hotel, Nyungwe Forest Lodge, where we shall have our dinner and rest there too.

DAY 3: Colobus monkey trekking and canopy walk

Breakfast will be proceeded by a colobus monkey trek where you will be able to see a group of over 400 individuals and spend a whole hour with them.

After that, we shall head to a canopy walk, a 70km suspended bridge above the ground for 2 hours natural walk. After the exhilarating activities, you will check in back to your hotel to rest and have Dinner.

DAY 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Breakfast will be the first thing to start with then kickoff our journey to Volcanoes National Park. There will be a lunch stopover in Karongi then continue to little birds’ paradise hotel for our dinner and bed in Musanze.

DAY 5: Gorilla trekking and nature walks

You will be expected to be at RDB offices at 6 am from your hotel for briefing then a guide is given to you and start off to gorilla trekking. After trekking, you will have your lunch then after have a nature walk around the Virunga massif.

DAY 6: Transfer to the airport

You will head to the airport after having breakfast which marks the end of your 6-day trips
