Why should you come to Rwanda for kwita Izina ceremony?
Kwita Izina ceremony is done once a year to appreciate those that has worked hard to preserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Since 2015, over 350 newborn gorillas have been named during this ceremony. This has seen mountain gorillas being moved from the critically endangered species to just endangered species.
However, the effort still needs to be put in place to ensure that mountain gorillas are conserved even for the generation to come. Appreciating those that has done so much to conserve gorillas and seeing their population grows from just over 600 gorillas to over 1000 gorillas is necessary and will encourage them to do more for conservation of these great apes of Africa.
