A comprehensive itinerary for 13 days in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda

Day 1: transportation to Volcanoes National Park from Kigali Airport

Your safari guide will collect you up at Kigali International Airport and take you to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park following a meet and greet. Depending on when you arrive, you may begin with a city tour of Kigali to get a sense of Rwandan culture by touring sites like Kirimanoko Market and various Rwandan museums to gain insight into the country’s history. After that, you will spend the night at a volcano. It takes roughly two hours to drive to the volcanoes.

Day 2: Iby’iwacu traditional visit and golden monkey trekking

Following breakfast, you will set off to find the endangered and entertaining golden monkeys in the rugged volcanoes national park. Trekking these small primates is less difficult because they do not reside at higher elevations like mountain gorillas do. It will take one to three hours to complete the journey, and after you see a golden monkey, you will have an hour to watch how they behave before heading back to the park headquarters, where your guide will be waiting. Following this, you will go to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to fully immerse yourself in Rwandan culture and watch performances and stories told by Rwandans to help you comprehend the country’s history.

Transfer to Bwindi National Park on Day 3

Following breakfast, you will set out for the Kisoro region in southwest Uganda. Driving through Rwanda’s hill country and verdant countryside to Bwindi, where you will arrive late in the evening for dinner, rest, and overnight accommodations, makes the drive to Kisoro across the Chanika border a picturesque one.

Day 4: trekking with gorillas in Bwindi National Park

An amazing opportunity to see the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural environments. You will arrive at the park headquarters very early in the morning, where the park guide will greet you, split you up into groups of eight, and explain the proper way to exercise mountain gorillas before taking you into the forest to begin your hunt for Africa’s gentle giants. After spending one to six hours searching for these magnificent primates, you will have an hour to spend with them and observe their behaviors before heading back to the park headquarters, where your driving guide will pick you up and transport you to your lodge for lunch and rest.

Transfer to Kibaale National Park on Day 5

Once breakfast is finished, you will accompany your driver on a picturesque journey to Kibaale National Park, which is home to endangered chimpanzees. After arriving in Kibaale, you will have an evening stroll to Bigodi Swamp, where you may see a variety of birds, including the endangered shoebill stork. After exploring, head back to your lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 6: Trekking with Chimpanzees

For the morning portion of the trip, get up very early, eat breakfast, and then proceed to the Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. When you arrive at the park headquarters, you will be accompanied by other hikers to begin the hunt for the closest human relatives in their natural environments. As you continue to look for chimps, you may come across a number of other primates that reside in Kibaale, the world’s monkey capital. About 20 other primate species can be found in the park, some of which you may be fortunate to see while looking for chimpanzees. Following your encounter with the chimpanzees, you will have an hour to observe their behavior before being driven back to the park headquarters and to your lodging for the night.

Transfer to the Entebbe airport on day seven in preparation for your flight to Tanzania

You will start your journey to Kampala, Uganda’s capital, after breakfast. Before continuing to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your guide will be waiting to transfer you to your lodge in Arusha, you will enjoy this picturesque drive with a stopover at Kayabwe at 00 Equator to witness God’s creativity. There, you will also have lunch.

Day 8: travel to Tarangire National Park and go on a game drive there

Following breakfast, you will go to Tarangire National Park by car for almost two hours. Following your check-in at the park headquarters, you will go on a full-day wildlife drive during which you may see flamingos, big cats, and many elephants. Before heading to your lodge for an overnight stay and dinner, you will have the opportunity to explore the stunning scenery throughout the day, including the well-known baobab trees that adorn the park.

Day 9: evening game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park

The first human remains are thought to have been discovered near Olduvai Gorge, so pack a lunch and wake up early to begin your journey to Serengeti National Park. You will arrive at Serengeti National Park in time for an evening game drive where you will see the late grazers after a quick tour to this ancient gorge. After dinner and an overnight stay, you will return to your lodge.

Day 10–11: Serengeti National Park wildlife drive

The renowned Serengeti National Park was explored over two days. treading in the footsteps of the beautiful big migration of the wildebeest and taking in the breathtaking scenery and enormous plain of Serengeti National Park. In addition to the wildebeest migration, the Serengeti is thought to have the largest population of lions, with approximately 3,000 lions thought to reside there. Among other wildlife, the Serengeti is home to all five of Africa’s major species, including lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffalos, and rhinos in Moru Kopjes.

Day 12: travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and go on a crater game drive

You will travel early in the morning to Ngorongoro Crater, which is home to all five of Africa’s major animals and is the largest caldera in the world. Before heading back to your resort in time for supper and an overnight stay, descend to the crater for a full day of game viewing.

Transfer to Arusha on day 13.

Today will be the final day of this amazing journey. You will be driven back to Arusha after breakfast so you can catch your flight to your next location.
