Before taking a plane to Arusha, Tanzania, to begin your wildlife safari, which will take you to the renowned Serengeti national park to see the diverse wildlife and the expansive Serengeti plain with the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the well-known wildebeest migration, our 6-day gorilla trekking tour and Serengeti safari will take you to Rwanda’s volcanoes national park, where you will engage in mountain gorilla trekking. Along with the stunning, varied scenery, you will also see the largest intact caldera in the world at Ngorongoro Crater, where you will see all five of Africa’s major animals. The journey will begin in Rwanda’s Kigali and conclude in Tanzania’s Arusha.

A thorough itinerary
Day 1: go to Volcanoes National Park after landing at Kigali airport
If you are going for a self-drive experience, our driver will meet you at Kigali International Airport, go over the basics of the vehicle, and then give you your gorilla trekking permit so you can begin your road trip to Volcanoes National Park. Otherwise, while you are getting ready for your gorilla trekking event the next day, your driver will transport you to your lodge in Volcanoes National Park, where you will rest, eat dinner, and spend the night.
Day 2: gorilla trekking and transfer to Arusha
Get up very early, eat breakfast, and then head to the headquarters of the Volcanoes National Park. There, park rangers and guides will greet you and assign you to a group of other trekkers. You will then receive a briefing about the gorilla trekking experience before beginning your search for these magnificent apes in the forest. One to six hours will be spent on the search. You will be given an hour to see the gorillas play and go about their everyday lives after you come into contact with them. Remember to adhere to the gorilla trekking guide. Consider going to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda for a less expensive gorilla trekking permit. Once the walk is over, head back to Kigali airport to catch your next aircraft to Arusha, where you can see wildlife. Our local guide will be waiting for you when you arrive in Arusha to either give you the car if you are going on a self-drive safari or to take you to your lodge if you are going on a guided safari.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You will drive to Serengeti National Park for eight hours after breakfast. There is an opportunity to explore various scenery during the picturesque drive. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to make a visit at Olduvai Gorge, which is said to be the location of the first human remains discovered. After continuing your journey to the Serengeti, you will arrive late at night and check into your lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the night while preparing for the next day.
Day 4: Serengeti full-day game drive
You will start your animal search in the expansive Serengeti National Park following breakfast in the morning. All five of Africa’s Big five are found here—lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffalo, and rhinos—will be visible to you. Other herbivores, including as zebras and the well-known wildebeest, will also be seen. During this excursion, you are likely to come across antelopes and a variety of bird species that call the park home. You will return to your resort to unwind after a full day of exploration.
Day 5: transport to Ngorongoro Crater after an early game drive
To meet the early risers, begin your morning with a game drive. There is also a great potential of witnessing predator-prey interaction during the morning drive. To improve your experience, keep an eye out for potential search activity locations. Following the morning wildlife drive, leave the park and travel to Karatu, where you will arrive at Crater View Inn late in evening for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Arusha Drive after a game drive at Ngorongoro
In less than a day, you will drive to Ngorongoro and descend to the crater to see all five of Africa’s big five. in addition to the different kinds of animals, such as the local wildebeest. In addition to its distinctively varied environment, the crater is home to a variety of bird species, including the rare ostrich and lesser and larger flamingos. This fantastic adventure will come to an end when you drive back to Arusha to catch your next flight.
